Colophon

This is the second leaf.

The first edition of this book was frozen, hashed with SHA-256, and the hash inscribed on Bitcoin. That anchor stands. Nothing in this edition revises it, because nothing can. A committed record is not editable; that is the entire point. The certificate, with hash, transaction id, block height, and verification instructions, remains published at:

This edition is a new commitment, inscribed as a new leaf beside the old one. The first edition shipped with its warts on purpose, so that the gesture the book argues for would be performed on the book itself. The second edition corrects what careful readers then found: claims that ran past their proofs, cases told twice, a protocol state that promised more than a heartbeat can prove, an eighth seam the first seven missed. The corrections do not replace the original. They stand beside it, both anchored, and the reader weighs them. That is the architecture the book describes, applied to the book.

Be precise about what the anchors prove. An anchor proves that these exact bytes existed by that block, under that key, at that cost. It does not prove authorship, accuracy, or truth. The chain records the commitment. The reading is yours.

To verify: retrieve either edition from the addresses on the certificate, compute its SHA-256, compare against the anchored hash. If the digests do not match, the file has been altered.

This is anchor two. The rest is still time.
